MUTINEER SOCIAL CHART | ||
Rat king. The reason that Angelo is still alive despite not particularly wanting to be. The worst of humanity. Entirely untrustworthy, which makes him easy to follow. What does he see, at the end of this? What life is he striving towards? As long as Angelo can keep asking that question, he can take another step. September Update: Angelo's carefully constructed categories have broken down. Rather than being an emblem of humanity, Hickey is staring to be a person to Angelo, and that means that he's in danger of being let down. Yet Angelo has decided to take the gamble and give his life and body to the other. ![]() Hickey's previous second in command, making him a rival. Angelo feels constantly scrutinized by him, and Tozer feels that Angelo is a suspicious entity of unknown origin, whose influence on Hickey is something to watch out for. It doesn't help that they're both proud soldiers, who are kind of posturing at each other to prove their superiority. "What's the deal between this guy and Hickey?" is a question mutually on their mind, but neither of them will actually ask. September Update: As of the Tuunbaq attack, Angelo has grudgingly come to hold some respect for Tozer as a soldier. The tension between them has not defused any. ![]() During the early days, Hodgson is perhaps the most conflicted about Angelo. Though he does not buy into the idea that Angelo is a genuine angel descended from the sky, he is certainly an Other that has brought them a great blessing. His existence feels like it is equally blasphemous as it is part of salvation, and it makes Hodgson feel uneasy. Angelo for his part just thinks Hodgson is weird and fussy. September Update: Shortly after arriving on Terror, Hodgson has taken mercy on Angelo and shown him the trick to Victorian curling tongs. Between that and their shared desire to keep the ship tidy and civilized, Angelo and Hodgson have begun working together more often and are building a better rapport. ![]() Angelo and Goodsir share a mutual animosity. After a brief interlude in which Goodsir tried to warn Angelo away from Hickey, they have come to understand each other as completely incompatible people and avoid speaking to each other. Goodsir can tell that Angelo's heart is as rotten beyond repair as Hickey's, and Angelo thinks of Goodsir as a self-righteous hypocrite. It is only Goodsir who threatens to break Angelo's comfort by looking right to his core and harshly judging what he sees. September Update: Goodsir remains as a strange and uncomfortable memory, and Angelo refuses to entertain the idea that he survived being left for dead by the group. ![]() Angelo and De Veoux don't like each other, but in a much more mundanely catty way. De Voeux was the first of the mutineers to break the stalemate and really question Angelo, and he got a tooth punched out for his trouble. Since then De Voeux has been a lot more cautious about making jabs at Angelo, but Angelo is pretty certain he's still talking behind his back. For his part, Angelo is not punching him again largely because punching him was really gross when all his teeth were so loose thanks to scurvy. ![]() The first person to reach out to Angelo in a way that wasn't probing or derogatory. Despite the dire situation, Manson is a bit concerned about bringing Angelo into the fold of their group, which he wishes to perceive as fairly tight-knit. This is easier to endure if they are. Angelo does not reward his attempts with much attention, but his dismissiveness is not laced with cruelty for once. |
![]() Likes the Empire and is not afraid to mention it in casual conversation, earning him a place on Angelo's shitlist pretty instantly. For his part, Lane doesn't think any more of Angelo than he does of Tozer. They're both Hickey's lackeys. Because of Lane's good standing with the new additions to their crew, Angelo has to tolerate him in 'wardroom' discussions. ![]() Tozer's constant shadow. Angelo can see himself in that kind of loyalty, but that doesn't mean he likes Armitage any more for it. Being associated with Tozer just makes Angelo think of him as potential trouble. Armitage for his part is aware that Tozer has misgivings about the supernatural aspect that they aren't told about, but verbally Tozer shuts him down when he tries to bring it up. September Update: Meat. Putrid lukewarm meat. It's all Angelo can think of when he thinks back to Armitage. ![]() Diggle is still loyal to Crozier, but more concerned with survival than with making his disapproval known. He'll cook for the mutineers, Angelo included, and simply think his part. As such he is a quiet presence at camp that Angelo does not give much thought to. September Update: Thanks to a short strange moment on the lifeboat, 'go see what you can do for Mr. Diggle' is firmly lodged as a synonym for 'go fuck yourself' to Angelo now. This is not Diggle's fault in the slightest. ![]() One of the mutineers more open to socializing with Angelo, though he isn't making much of an active attempt to. Pilkington has accepted that the matter of where Angelo and all the supplies came from simply won't be solved and moved on from the matter. Angelo is beginning to appreciate that Pilkington treats him like a regular crew member. ![]() Kind of a spineless coward who fades into the background in Angelo's mind. He's vaguely aware that Hoar is a steward and as such is judging him for not keeping the camp more clean and tidy... September Update: Died an unremarkable death and Angelo is not sorry. ![]() Angelo's priority target for manual labor tasks, because Daly is still relatively physically fit and doesn't really argue back, because he is frankly too tired to get into it with Hickey's new boytoy. September Update: Alas, new pack mule needed. ![]() Stubborn and steadfast. Though he's battling scurvy, he's still hanging on admirably. He's Lane's closest confidant and can't wait to return to mother Britain. Angelo can't stand him. ![]() Deeply religious and a little timid. Sullivan does try to get everyone together for quiet prayer from time to time and Angelo is profoundly irritated by his attempts. ![]() A melancholy young man who has been passing the time trying to teach himself how to read so he could record memories about their dead. Angelo thinks it's pointless sentimentality, but he appreciates that Ferrier keeps busy in useful ways instead of succumbing to despair. ![]() A breathing corpse. He's being attended to in the medical office, but his scurvy has progressed to a point where he is hardly ever lucid. It's quite pitiful. | |
